Are you looking to become more informed, empowered, and prepared for your end of pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, and postpartum period? These classes will be perfect for you!
I try to keep classes very conversational amongst the amount of information I will be sharing with you.
Classes are a combination of instructional time, videos, discussions, hands-on games, and practice.
Childbirth education includes what childbirth looks like, fetal positioning, hormones in birth, biology of birth, how the brain affects labor and birth, conscious childbirth, pain/fear/tension cycle, fight/flight approach, navigating birth, confident labor and birthing, discuss and practice comfort measures (emotional, mental, and physical), tearing prevention, birth affirmation, create a balanced self statement, as well as best immediate postpartum practices.
Breastfeeding education includes the benefits of breastfeeding for mother and child, information about your milk and milk supply, parenting practices that affect breastfeeding, practice various holds and positions for mom and baby, exploring what a good latch is and what it looks like as well as feels like, feeding cues, birth and postpartum suggestions for improving breastfeeding, baby habits, potential concerns and how to handle them, as well as other resources.
Postpartum planning is covered in an open discussion of mental health for both mom and dad, setting realistic expectations, biological normal infant sleep, relationship care, postpartum healing, and beyond.
Basic Baby Care covering bathing, diaper changes, feeding, baby gear, early weeks, and more.
All education is based on physiological and biological norms (i.e. natural childbirth, attachment parenting, etc.) with the highlights of body autonomy, medical freedom, alternatives, and more.
All clients receive Transcend Maternal Services custom resources.

What are Transcend Families saying?"...Hannah has become so much more than that. She supported us every step of the way—from being almost absurdly available during my pregnancy for questions or just to chat, to helping us find donor milk when we found out our baby wasn’t getting enough to eat, to texting me to do a postpartum check in while she was on vacation. I probably should have used the hypnobirthing techniques I’d practiced or printed out reminders of how I envisioned our son’s birth happening, but in failing to do any of that, I discovered just how amazing of a doula Hannah is. All I needed during the intense moments was her voice reminding me that this was all to bring baby earth side, to use my breath, to spontaneously get in our bathtub (because I hadn’t gotten the birth pool I obviously should have). I had no idea of the blessing Hannah would become when I first spoke with her. She knows what you need before you do and even when you don’t. She will take care of you, be silly with your toddler, and lovingly help you bring your baby into this world. And at the end of it all, you will feel like you have made a new friend with the warmest heart, who loves your babies almost as much as you do." ~Brittany B. |
